From handcrafting bicycle saddles in Ludhiana to making metal beds for international markets, our story is one of family, craft, and continual reinvention.

Joginder Singh arrived in India as a child refugee of Partition. After losing his father on the journey, he began rebuilding his life in Punjab.

The family business began in a small Ludhiana workshop, handcrafting bicycle saddles. Those early products laid the foundation for Big Ben’s work in bicycle components.

Working alongside his father, Tejvinder Singh developed the saddle business. A visit to Mumbai inspired new designs focused on comfort; he also chose the Big Ben name, inspired by London’s clock.

Tejvinder Singh attended his first international bicycle show in Germany. Exhibitions and overseas visits brought new relationships and ideas back to the workshop in Ludhiana.

The group was recognised as an Export House by the Government of India. Its bicycle range grew to include saddles, pedals, reflectors, grips, and other components.

Building on its manufacturing experience, Big Ben expanded into metal beds and furniture. A dedicated furniture facility near Ludhiana was inaugurated in March 2023.

Ikjap Singh, Tejvinder’s younger son and Joginder’s grandson, is helping grow the furniture business internationally, including exports to the US and Canada.
